OVERVIEW - BLACKWATER LODGE TEAHUPOO
SurfCascade is proud to announce the grand opening of its Blackwater Lodge at Teahupoo.
Officially,
the Lodge opened for business to a few select
guests in Feb 2007. During the month
of May the Lodge will be the main gathering spot for the crew of the Billabong Pro.
The Lodge will be open to all our customers world wide in June 2007.

The Lodge is a 3 unit complex set on the hill overlooking Teahupoo. The main unit
in the middle sleeps 4 and is completely designed and contstructed using native
Tahitian materials and craftsmanship. The smaller units on the left and right house
the kitchen and dining area and the other a game and play room. The Lodge can accomodate
more than 4 but requires sleeping in pullout beds in the dining wing and play room.
The beach at Teahupoo is visable from the upper floor and is a short walk from the
bure. There are many breaks nearby as well as horseback riding, scuba diving, hiking
and other activities. We are offering as add on options, surf guides with taxi boats,
fishing and full meal plans including breakfast, lunch and diner.
Teahupoo is a good 2 hour drive from Papeete. It is a laid back, beautiful town,
very reminicent of Hawaii 30 years ago. Its a great destination and offers plenty
of diverse activities beyond surfing which makes a great destination for families
as well. We reccomend renting a car at the airport as transfers cost close to $200usd
each way. Depending on availability a SurfCascade representative may be available
for lower cost transfers - please inquire.
We reccomend a stay at the Lodge either before or after a trip on Cascade or as a
vacation unto itself. Direct flights are available from LAX, NYC and Sydney
and make for an easy and fast arrival to the Bure at Teahupoo.
If you have ever wanted to check out Teahupoo or want a great alternative to Hawaii
or other South Pacific Island getaways - Teahupoo is for you. The Lodge at Teahupoo
is 5-star construction at a 2-star price - It is perhaps the best bargain
going on
Tahiti currently.

Is it for me?
The Blackwater Lodge at Teahupoo is for anyone looking for an authentic getaway - near one of the worlds most dynamic waves but more importantly - in an authentic Tahitian village
with great restaurants, activities and real local style - you will not feel like
a tourist in this town.
There are many different surf breaks easily accesible from the Lodge - we have a
couple pedal bikes for your use and a rental car is advisable.
The break at Teahupoo is in season from May until August but is not always huge
- just like Pipeline its not always on but is still a nice wave. Most of the breaks
around Teahupoo are quite accesible to all levels and abilities.
